Beware: Mongolian Dog, Chinese Chain

When I go on photo walks, I often notice the small oddities rather than the big scenes. Signs, fences, random bits of text, plaques on gates — the things you usually walk past without really looking.

That’s how I slowly built up a collection of “Beware of the Dog” signs. At first, I came across a few funny ones. Then I got curious and started looking for more. Turns out even something this simple can be surprisingly varied.

Not all of the signs here are funny. Some are strict, some are handmade, some look almost official, and some feel like they were drawn in a moment of sincere alarm. But that’s part of the charm. Behind each one, there’s a fence, a yard, and someone’s own version of a dog you probably shouldn’t test.
