September Without the Rush (2026)
September Photos
September was mostly warm, with plenty of sunshine. I got out into nature with my camera a couple of times. I've already shared one of those walks in a separate series, “A Wolf, a Bear, and Almost a Crocodile.” This post brings together the rest of the month's photos.
I shot a lot with manual-focus lenses. I like how they let me take my time: choose an angle, focus manually, take the shot.
A Few Thoughts on Editing
DarkTable, where I process the RAW files from my camera, now has AI masks. They've made editing noticeably faster: small tasks I used to do manually now take much less time.
I don't want to hand the entire editing process over to AI. I find manual editing meditative. But I'm happy to automate some of the routine work. I still want to decide how the final photo looks.
I'm expecting MCP support in DarkTable next month. I'd like to try automating parts of the initial photo selection and editing process. That's the plan for now. I'll see how it works in practice.
